Addtional Information

Florida Flats Fishing

Fish the unique grass flats of Florida’s Central West Coast.  A “flat” is a large body of shallow water often protected by barrier islands.  The flats are generally 1’-10’ deep , with most of the waters we fish in the 3’-5’ range.  These healthy flats are full of marine life, and a great place to target Snook, Redfish , Spotted Sea Trout and more.  The grass flats have patchy holes of sand spots, called “potholes” , large oyster bars, and mangrove tree lined coasts , all which serve as ambush points for game fish targeting live bait .

Teeming with marine and bird life, you will see stingrays, dolphins, sharks, pelicans and even the occasional manatee.

Captain Thom will plan your trip based upon current influences, such as tide, wind, moon phase & fishing trends and patterns.

Captain Thom invites young Anglers and families aboard.  From Novice , New to Saltwater Fishing, to Intermediate & Advanced Anglers, Captain Thom will be sure to design your charter for the most fun & productive day on the water.

Please  let us know if there are specific fish you want to target, your preference of live or artificial baits, and your skill level w spinning rods and baitcaster set ups.  Spinning rod set ups will be used for most trips, however trolling rigs, bait casters and other rigs are available.  Captain Thom  even has top of the line Zebco push button spincast reels for the kids or novice anglers.   And we‘ve found the fish don’t care!  The Captain‘s wife has caught some very nice (and big) fish on her Zebco Spincast set up!

Captain Thom loves to teach and share as well. You can enjoy your day knowing he will handle all your tackle and fish for you.   Or, if you  prefer, he can show you how to set up rigs, tie knots, and techniques for using both live and artificial baits to catch fish.

Many of the species we catch are regulated by size and catch limits.  Be sure to let your Captain know if you want to keep your fish for consumption.  Captain Thom will filet your catch at the dock and send you home with the freshest filets available! There are several restaurants nearby where you can have your catch cooked for you!
